For most of your career, you’ve probably seen leadership modeled in a certain way –

one that tends to be very corporate, very patriarchal, and very productivity-before-humanity.

But you?

You want to show up as your vibrant, thoughtful, real self – not some cold, rigid, post-Severance-floor office robot who cares only about KPIs and refers to living, breathing people as “capital.”

Love it or hate it, you know that feelings and perception do matter. (And it’s good that you know they matter, because emotional intelligence is a critical factor in a leader’s success.)

You care deeply – about the quality of your work, obviously, but also about the people on your team, the future of your organization, and the impact you’ll have on the world.

But lately? Something has changed… or something needs to change.

Maybe you’ve landed a brand-new role. Maybe your role is ending. Maybe what’s expected of you has been completely upended. Maybe you’re wondering if it’s finally time to move on.

Where you once felt confident, you’re now out of balance. And the doubts? Oh, they’ve started to creep in:

When will I feel like a “real” leader?

Do I really belong here?

Am I doing this right?

Am I doing enough?

Here’s the truth: leadership is not just something you do – it’s who you are. And…

The stories you have in your head about what type of leadership is “acceptable”? They’re BS – because you are the type of leader the world needs.

(And no – you don’t have to hold an “official” leadership position to be a leader.)

You are where you are – whether that’s in your current role, transitioning into a new role, or rising within the ranks of your organization – for a reason: you already have the competencies required to lead.

But conscious leadership? The kind where you can…

It will require you to develop a new capacity – which is going to take a little self-examination, a little compassion, a little curiosity, and a little trial and error.

And that, my friend, is exactly what I’m here to help you do.

Here, Leadership Coaching is a sacred space where you’ll have the chance to:

  • feel heard and hear yourself – alongside someone who’ll listen for what’s really going on

  • quickly see where and why your actions and words are out of alignment with your values

  • get clear on your goals, and then get clear on how to make them happen

  • gain the confidence to ask for what you need (and back it up with data)

  • find out what’s really behind your impostor syndrome (and then get out from under it)

  • understand your resources, your capabilities, your autonomy, your agency, your spheres of influence

  • sharpen your awareness of how mindset, emotion, and perception can influence the way you experience the world

    and

  • build strategies to help you overcome challenges, foster trusting relationships, and deepen your connection to your vocation.

It’s part focused conversation, part evidence-based assessment, part tailored strategies, and all intentionally designed to support your growth as a human and as a leader.

From a leadership perspective, I wish I’d had this long ago. I wish I’d had this when I started. The board recognizes it, too.

“I brought Arianne in to help me navigate the last year of my tenure so I could finish strong, avoid the pitfalls of burnout, and go out on a high note.

The work was very affirming, but never easy – Arianne will keep drilling down until you actually answer the question, and sometimes I didn’t like that! But it was exactly what I needed when I needed it.

Now, the organization is thriving. We’ve tripled our budget, doubled our land footprint, and been in the black for 12 out of the past 13 years.”

- Brooks Paternotte, Executive Director

I’m a lot more comfortable and confident in my own leadership style. Arianne can challenge me in a way that stays connected, and that’s really helpful. It helps me see things in a new way. I trust her.

“For me, as a woman in ministry, I’ve mostly had male mentors and bosses. So, when I was thinking about my own leadership style and growth, I was looking for someone whose leadership style I respected and might want to learn from – and someone I could also be challenged by as I came into my own.

In the church world, people tend to do either therapy or spiritual direction. What I found with Arianne was the coaching model – but as an Episcopal priest, being able to bring the spiritual component, the emotional intelligence, the vulnerability, the Brené Brown teachings – it was helpful in a way I hadn’t experienced before.”

- The Rev. Anne Marie Witchger, Rector

Have questions about how Leadership Coaching engagements work?

Where are the coaching sessions held?

One-on-one coaching sessions are held virtually via Zoom, so you can join from anywhere in the world.

Wait, you’re a priest? Do I need to be religious to work with you?

I am! I’m an Episcopal Priest (the progressive kind). I’ve led congregations in Durham, NC, and Baltimore, MD, and learned that parish ministry is several jobs in one! You are a non-profit, self-differentiated leader whose skill set requires inspiring and relatable public speaking, teaching, visioning, strategic planning, fundraising, conflict resolution, and much more, much more.

A priest, to me, is someone who continually works on their personhood.

Like you, I bring all of who I am to what I do. You don’t have to be religious to work with me, though I love to work with people for whom the spirituality of your life matters – whether you call it a higher power, the universe, God, Allah, Jehovah, Mother Earth, or even just love. Whatever it is, I’m here for it.

Also, I sometimes say “fuck.”

So, coaching, consulting, and facilitating are all different things?

Yes, they are! In my capacity as a Leadership Coach, I partner with people to examine how mindsets and beliefs influence our perspectives and our ability to achieve our goals. Leadership Coaching focuses on the person, because who we are is at the heart of what we want to accomplish.

As a coach, I will not tell you what to do, give you advice, or teach techniques that I believe work – that is consulting (which I can also do, if that’s what you want).

As a Daring Way™ Trained Facilitator, I’m licensed to deliver a curriculum (ie, facilitate) for individuals and groups, and I will typically customize the program based on your specific needs.

Do you have any coaching certifications?

Yes! My certifications include:

  • Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching, Georgetown University Institute for Transformational Leadership

  • Daring Way™ Trained Facilitator

  • ICF Associate Certified Coach

  • OKA EQ-i 2.0/EQ-i 360 Certification

  • Foundational Skills of Emotional Intelligence, Daniel Goleman

Why the focus on emotional intelligence?

Because emotional intelligence (also called EQ) is the heart of compassionate leadership! In fact, according to Harvard Business School, it’s a crucial component of impactful leadership. When we’re unaware of how emotions influence how we see others and how others see us, it’s very difficult to express ourselves, build and maintain relationships, cope with challenges, and make decisions – all skills that are essential if you want to lead effectively.

I am certified to administer and interpret the EQ-i 2.0 and EQ-i 360 assessment, which is part of the Coaching Engagement. It’s a tool that will help you better understand yourself, so you can use that knowledge to grow and develop – both professionally and personally.

Individual and Team EQ Assessments are also available.

Who do you work with?

  • Executives, Leaders, and Teams in both for-profit and non-profit sectors

  • Clergy and Chaplains in congregations and hospitals

  • People for whom spirituality matters

  • People who care deeply about their work, their team, their organization, and their mission

Arianne brought out the boss in me. She really listened, and she really cared about my professional and personal growth. She heard me.

“Arianne is calming and inviting, but she’s also tough – she really makes you think about the hard questions and prompts you to dig a little deeper than you normally would.

I used to feel a little more reactive and task-oriented, but now I’m able to think more strategically. I feel more confident about my decision-making and about the counsel that I give to the foundation and our staff.

If I’d have known it was going to be that easy, I would’ve jumped in sooner!”

Transformational leadership begins with the decision to listen to that small, still voice inside –

the one that whispers the truths about who we’re meant to be, and then guides us toward our full potential.

You are capable of being the kind of leader who makes meaningful connections, sparks visionary ideas, skillfully navigates change and conflict, and inspires others to lead alongside you.

It all starts with cultivating your capacity.
